Kaili Che (she/her)—Performer & Creator

Kaili Che 謝祖弘 is a Chinese-Canadian interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, and movement educator based on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish Peoples (Vancouver) and in Moh’kins’tsis, Treaty 7 Territory (Calgary). Kaili leads with collaboration, curiosity, vulnerability, play and laughter. She graduated from The University of Calgary with a BFA in Dance (Distinction) and has her HDPC with Safe in Dance International.

Pam Tzeng (she/they)—Mentor

Pam Tzeng 曾小桐  (she/they) is a Taiwanese-Canadian choreographer, facilitator, consultant and somatic coach based in Mohkinstsis, Treaty 7 Territory.

Pam’s artistic work is an evolving collection of intimate and visceral reflections on the politics of the body. Pam takes pleasure in extremes to craft honest and animated performances and immersive installations. Led by their embodied curiosities, Pam graciously traverses charged thematic territories to reveal and empower unseen truths.

Pam is a commitment to offering the breadth of their skills, experiences, creativity to the work of equity, anti-oppression and conflict transformation in the arts.

Nia Devetzis (she/her)—Soundscape Artist/Composer

Nia Devetzis is a percussionist driven by the vivid and vast world of contemporary music. As a teaching artist, she is dedicated to education through performance and instruction, leading by example and questioning audience expectations by asking, what exactly is percussion? 

Her creative work expands across disciplines. She has been a collaborator for devised theatre works at the University of Calgary, and with Mudfoot Theatre, performing as a musician/actor. 

Nia is an instructor at the Mount Royal Conservatory, and she is an active educator and clinician in Calgary. She completed a Master of Music in Percussion Performance with Rod Squance at the University of Calgary. @n.d.drums , Nia Devetzis Percussion  , www.niadevetzis.com

Lisa Shen (she/her)—Writer

Lisa Shen is a writer and spoken word artist, and the 2023-2025 Youth Poet Laureate of the City of Mississauga. Her work centers on feminism and girlhood, with secondary focuses on Chinese-Canadian identity, disability, and queer love. 

Lisa placed second in the country at the 2023 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam. She has performed at venues across North America, from California to Toronto. Her work has been featured by CBC Radio, TEDx, Rattle, and Voicemail Poems. Lisa is the Director of Sauga Poetry, Mississauga’s hub for spoken word events. @itslisashen , www.lisashen.ca

Michael Luong (he/him)—Stage Manager

Michael is Calgary based stage manager focused mostly in theatre but is excited to be working out of his comfort zone on this show! Select shows include Sleuth and misery at Vertigo Theatre, Little Women and Million Dollar Quartet at Theatre Calgary, and Life with Stanley/ Raising Tulia with Lunchbox Theatre. Maxime Beauregard (they/them)—Accessibility Consultant & Coordinator

Maxime Beauregard is a white francophone joyful autistic transgender nonbinary human that currently lives near Katarokwi colonially known as Kingston, Ontario. They are a consultant on Transgender Inclusion, Relaxed Spaces, and Accessibility, working in interdependent collaboration with their Queer Disabled anchor partner Erin Ball. Maxime is also a Disabled performer (contemporary dance, aerial circus, drag), a choreographer and an Equity Diversity Inclusion Access workshop facilitator that strives to live radical access and take actions via the Disability Justice principles (Sins Invalid). You can often find them accompanied with Gordon, a Squishmallow shark plushie with a smile that brings joy. @max_outside_the_box , @alekginger
