Lab Outline:

The "Dance Roulette Workshop" will consist of movement/body based practice, community, curiosity and a little bit of chance. We will spin from an automatic wheel to see which form of movement, choreography or discussion topic the class will target.

Potential Workshops:

Hip Hop/Breaking: Class will consist of basic hip hop grooves, party steps, hip hop history, breaking, choreography and a cool-down/discussion at the end of class.

Stretch & Conditioning: Get ready for a full body dance related workout. Class will begin with a warm-up that transitions into lower, mid and upper body exercises. We will finish class with a cool-down/mindful journaling.

Contemporary: A basic introduction and exploration to movement inspired by contemporary dance. Class will start with body/mind warm-up, movement exploration, set exercises, choreography and a cool-down.

Improvisation & Generating Movement: Starting with a warm-up/movement exploration, class will dive into 3 different prompts to approach improvisation. Class will end with a discussion/questioning period.

Basic “Movement” Class Plan: Seniors, Social Events, School: Class will look at three basic “movement” class plans for a senior, social event and school population. Each participant will get access to the PDFs during and after the class (if requested).
