The Liminal—

The Future of Inevitability & Surrender

Co-Created by KAILI CHE & MIGUEL MARAVILLA

“It begins with counting; one, then, two, then, three, and so forth. Watch as two bodies collide, negotiate, and navigate through space—jumping into portals of their dreams, struggles, and absurdities.”

From The Collaborators

Contemporary dance artist, Kaili Che, performing live with composer/musician, Miguel Maravilla, on a 15 minute new commissioned work as a part of IndieFest 2023—The Liminal. As first time collaborators, Kaili and Miguel’s goals are to develop/build a long-lasting relationship, share/exchange knowledge between their respective practices, continue professional development/growth as collaborators/leaders/facilitators, create from a place of care, and to share stories—personal, cultural, and communal.

From The Festival

“This iteration of The Liminal invites new commissions to create portals to possible futures. In this immersive choose-your-own-adventure experience, audiences can nourish themselves on food and conversation, be transported to new worlds, and plant their own possibilities. This event is a dedicated space for change; it holds space for the familiar and unknown, and exists between the histories we are grown on, and the tomorrows we are dreaming of.”
